Transferring images between folders It is often necessary to transfer an image or selection of images from one folder to another. There are several basic ways to do this in Windows. The method I frequently use is to open My Computer and open the folder containing the image I wish to move. I then open another copy of My Computer in another window with, if necessary, a new folder with a suitable name to receive the transferred image. Your screen should look something like the illustration below. If the image is being transferred without the need for a copy to remain in it's original folder the image is simply dragged into the new folder.
If a copy is still required in the original folder you only need open one window as shown on the right above. Highlight the image you wish to copy and in the menu labeled‘File and folder Tasks' on the left hand side of the window select ‘copy this file'. A menu will appear asking where you wish to send the file, type in the destination or select it from the drop down menu and click OK. In both case to see thumbnails of the image rather than an icon or the data >View>thumbnails
